Pathway to Freedom Approved for Tutwiler Prison for Women!!!
We met with Warden Albright and Deputy Warden Jones and they approved the Pathway to Freedom program at Tutwiler. We will continue the program with the women who have or will be transferred back from the Montgomery Women's Facility. Nine have already moved but transfers for the rest are on hold until some upgrades are completed at Tutwiler, hopefully by early September. The location and times for classes in Tutwiler are still to be worked out, but we are very pleased with the cooperation of the warden. Keep praying for these details to flow smoothly and that the women would remain encouraged during this time of turmoil.
We will also explore starting a work release version of Pathway to Freedom once the changeover occurs. This will give us all three phases of the original Pathway to Freedom design--two years in medium security followed by one to two years in a work release setting before being released to the community suppport networks.
Even though much is in fluctuation, please sign up now for the courses tentatively beginning in September at Tutwiler. We will need up to 16 volunteer instructors and we will provide training in mid to late August. Click on this link
